For those who want to improve their post processing skills.

Monday Livestream

Post processing is often considered to be 50% of the photographic process, so the Monday Livestream sessions are your chance to learn more about how to enhance your images in the company of Neil Phillips.

Post processing

Where to start?

When you first start post processing your work you are  faced with the challenge of which sliders or buttons to press in your chosen editing software. Frequently, newcomers resort to changing the exposure, perhaps cropping the image and sharpening it, then running out of ideas. Monday Livestream sessions will explain how to think about your images and what steps to take to really enhance your images. Newcomers often wonder if there is some sort of process they should follow, the answer is there is not a process, but there are a series of steps you can follow to ensure you can achieve the most from your images.

Vision-driven Post Processing

The photographer and author David Duchemin advocates using vision-driven post processing. This involves a series of steps that are driven by the photographer's original vision for his/her image. We believe this approach is very useful as a guide to post processing your work and, for good measure, only has 5 steps:

  1. Identify your intent/What’s your vision?
  2. Minimise the distractions
  3. Maximise the mood
  4. Draw the viewer’s eye
  5. Prepare for output

All APG members are welcome to join these sessions and the response so far has been really positive.

Who is it for?

For all levels of photographer from novice through to expert, who want to improve their post processing skills.

When does it happen?

Monday Livestream sessions take place at 8pm on the second Monday in the month and last one hour. All APG members will be notified of the topic for each session and the required Zoom link.
